Welding Torch

A welding torch, also known as a welding gun, is a tool that is used to direct and control the flow of the filler metal and shield gas in the welding process. It typically consists of a handle, an electrode holder, and a gas nozzle. In TIG welding, the torch is also used to provide the heat source that melts the metal.

In Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) or Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding, the torch holds a non-consumable tungsten electrode that produces the arc, the filler metal is added by hand. In Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) or Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding, the wire is feed automatically and the torch also directs the shielding gas over the weld puddle.

Welding torches come in different designs to suit different welding applications and are available in a variety of sizes and styles to suit the welder's preferences and needs. They are an essential tool for any welder, providing the means to control the arc and the flow of the filler metal, and ensuring a consistent and high-quality weld.
