Turnbuckle
A turnbuckle, also known as a rigging screw, is a mechanical device that is used to adjust the tension or length of ropes, cables, tie-rods, and other tensioning systems. It typically consists of a metal rod with screw threads on both ends, and a central barrel with a locking mechanism. The rod can be screwed in or out of the barrel to adjust the tension in the rope or cable that is connected to the turnbuckle. They are commonly used in construction, shipping, and other industries where tensioning and adjustment of ropes and cables is necessary.
